Physiotherapy can assist horses in a variety of ways including:
- Detailed assessment as part of a poor performance/lameness work ups
- Performance enhancement
- In the treatment and prevention of injury
- Provision of individualised rehabilitation programmes following illness, injury or surgery.
This service is offered by Katharine (Kate) Stephens, who is a Chartered Physiotherapist, specialising in Equine Physiotherapy. Kate has extensive experience as both a human and equine Physiotherapist and works as an external consultant to the Rossdales veterinary team.
Insurance companies will normally cover the cost of physiotherapy when under veterinary advice and supervision – but please check your policy beforehand.
