Common conditions that we investigate include colic, weight loss, gastric ulcers, diarrhoea and poor general health.
Diagnostic tools include abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy, radiography, absorption tests and intestinal biopsies. In some cases, abdominal surgery, either under general anaesthesia or by standing laparoscopy, can help us to diagnose and treat certain conditions.
We are also able to provide supportive care for horses with gastrointestinal problems that need intravenous fluids, nursing care or specialised nutritional support.
