Newmarket Equine Medicine Discussion Group Meeting

Our next meeting of the Newmarket Equine Medicine Discussion Group (NEMDG) at Rossdales Equine Hospital will include three guest speakers and include audience participation from Doubletree Hilton, Newbury where those who wish to attend there can get involved in the discussions via Skype.

Sepsis in Adult Horses
Sandra Taylor, Assistant Professor, College of Veterinary Medicine, Purdue University

Sandy’s clinical and research interests are focussed on critical illness and she has a wealth of experience in this area. In this presentation, she will provide an update on pathogenesis, recognition and management of sepsis in the adult.

Detection of Equine Coronavirus in horses in the United Kingdom
Jill Bryan, Associate, Rossdales Laboratories

Jill will report the results of qPCR testing for equine coronavirus (ECoV) in horses in the UK.

What do we see in our adult medical ICU and who survives?
Emma Alsop, Associate, Rossdales Equine Hospital and Diagnostic Centre

Emma will briefly present the results of clinical audit of adult horses receiving intensive care at REH.



These meetings are free to attend and the target audience is clinicians and academics and we aim to ensure a high level of discussion. It is not our intention to provide CPD but rather to offer an opportunity to discuss recent and ongoing research and future concepts relevant to equine medical practice.
