Newmarket Open Weekend takes place on 19th and 20th September and Rossdales Equine Hospital will be open to the public on Sunday between 9.30am and 1pm.
Our vets will be conducting tours of the hospital site throughout the morning and there is plenty of parking on site. Alternatively, you can travel to the hospital on one of the organised buses on the Yellow bus route from Newmarket. These will arrive at the hospital approximately on the hour from 10am to drop off/collect visitors. Last tour of the hospital will start at around midday.
There is racing at Newmarket's Rowley Mile Racecourse on Saturday and at 1.30pm Rossdales vets Tim Barnett and Imogen Comyn will be giving a short presentation on upper respiratory problems and and the equine heart in the parade ring.
Throughout the weekend, there is a full programme of events and attractions for the public to see 'behind the scenes' at the Home of Horseracing, including morning action on the gallops, afternoon racing, other equine sites including the National Stud and British Racing School, and a number of trainers yards.
The main objectives for this weekend are to promote Newmarket and horseracing, to bring the Newmarket community together, to raise funds for local causes and of course to have a fabulous weekend of fun and entertainment!
A new addition to the weekend is the Food Festival, which will cover both days and feature the best produce that East Anglia can offer – especially sausages!
Plan your weekend by viewing the Newmarket Open Weekend website.
