We've recently welcomed Louise Breen, who has joined Rossdales Diagnostic Centre as a Diagnostic Imaging and Orthopaedics intern.
Louise, who is originally from Ireland, graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2019 and upon completion of her studies she undertook an elective in equine soft tissue surgery at the Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital, Leahurst. During her studies, she completed a surgery externship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Kentucky, USA and a racing externship at Newmarket Equine Hospital.
Before joining Rossdales, she completed a 13 month rotating internship at Fethard Equine Hospital, Ireland, which included anaesthesia, surgery and medicine, working mostly with Thoroughbreds.
Louise very much enjoys working with sport horses and Thoroughbreds and she has a keen interest in surgery, orthopaedics and poor performance. In the future, she plans to undertake further qualifications in equine surgery or sports medicine.
At home in Ireland she also enjoys breeding event horses and showjumpers and watching them progress as young horses.
