On Saturday, 8th February, Cottenham Point-to-Point was held in glorious sunshine on good ground, with a large crowd in attendance. A field of seven horses came under the starter, Sir Mark Prescott’s, orders for a very competitive Ladies Open Race, which was sponsored by Rossdales.
The second favourite, Knockedoutloaded, jumped very well under jockey Alex Knight but was eventually headed by the favourite, the accurate and flowing jumper Lord Scoundrel (IRE), who was ridden by Lilly Pinchin.
Lilly works for the owner/trainer of Lord Scoundrel, Graeme McPherson, who is an eminent barrister and trainer, with a string of 60 horses in training at Stow-On-The-Wold, Gloucestershire. The plan is for Lilly and Lord Scoundrel to take their place in the line-up for the Foxhunters at Cheltenham, next month.
Rossdales partner Fred Barrelet is pictured presenting the prizes to the winning jockey and owner/trainer.
