Welcome to Josie Faulkner, who has joined our Diagnostic Centre team as a veterinary associate and imaging assistant.
Josie graduated from Cambridge University in 2013 and then moved to Sydney, Australia to undertake a one-year rotating hospital internship at Randwick Equine Centre (REC). She subsequently spent two months working for REC in China, where she was based at a private racing stable. Afterwards, she returned to Australia to work at Valley Equine Veterinary Centre in Perth for 3½ years. Here she gained invaluable experience as a general practitioner, with her main roles incorporating lameness investigations, imaging, dentistry, general medicine and surgery. During this time, Josie became a member of the Committee of Equine Veterinarians Australia, first as the Western Australia Young Member representative and then the Young Member President.
Josie is currently completing modules for a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice with a focus on Large Animal Diagnostic Imaging. Outside of work, Josie plays water polo and enjoys triathlons. She said: "I'm very pleased to be part of the team at the Diagnostic Centre. I'm also enjoying being back in UK and seeing friends and family."
