Congratulations to Rossdales Hertfordshire vet James Evans, who has passed his British Association of Equine Dental Technicians (BAEDT) examination.
To obtain this professional equine dentistry qualification, James had to undertake both theoretical and practical examinations and submit 300 dental charts for horses on which he had carried out dental work, 60 of which had to be more advanced cases (which included wolf teeth extractions, large overgrowth reduction, fractured teeth, diastemata, etc.)
James said: "I'm delighted to have been awarded the BAEDT qualification. This is a recognised examination and code of conduct for those of us with a specialised interest in equine dentistry. Regular routine dental care is essential for horses and ponies of all ages and it can help identify any potential problems early, so it's vital that we educate horse owners on the importance of taking care of their horse's teeth."
