Rossdales’ clinical director and horses in training vet Jack Day presented the prizes to the connections of Swiss Lightning (pink silks) following her success in the 7f Rossdales Fillies’ Maiden Stakes at Newmarket’s Craven Meeting earlier this month.
Swiss Lightning, an attractive 3-year-old chestnut Night Of Thunder filly, is owned by our client Lordship Stud and is trained by John and Thady Gosden. She took a keen hold early on and led narrowly inside the final furlong under jockey Kieran Shoemark, battling bravely to prevail by a head in a three-way finish.
Jack was joined at the presentation by Karen Kirkby and Jo Harman from our Accounts team in Newmarket, who also judged the Best Turned Out prize before the race and awarded this to the groom of Elizabeth Bay, trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam.
