Despite the torrential rain, the aptly named Seacruiser ran out an easy winner under Rossa Ryan in the Rossdales British EBF Maiden Stakes last Thursday at Newmarket Racecourse. The Ralph Beckett trained colt by Sea The Stars finished 1 1/4 lengths ahead of Present Times, another colt by the same stallion, trained by Charlie Appleby for Godolphin.
Rossdales Clinical Director Mark Grant presented prizes to the winning connections, with bloodstock agent Jamie McCalmont representing owner Marc Chan who enjoyed a lucrative day as Seacruiser picked up an additional £25,000 bonus as a Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus Scheme winner.
Mark was accompanied by Rossdales Business Director Kerstin Alford, along with VetPartners colleagues Julian Rishworth and Roger Dixon, who awarded the Best Turned Out prize to the groom of Kingmaker.
