Equine obesity is now one of the most common health problems for horses and ponies in the UK. Following the popularity of our previous Equine ‘Weight Wise’ clinics, we are holding another clinic on Saturday, 17th June at Rossdales Equine Hospital in Exning and you are invited to bring your horse or pony.

The clinic is free to attend and is open to all Rossdales Clients, who will be able to benefit from:

  • A one-to-one discussion about your horse or pony’s weight with Rossdales’ vets Paul Martynski and Lorna Brokenshire-Dyke, as well as experienced Competition and Leisure Horse nutritionist Vanessa Allen from Spillers Feeds.
  • Equine weighbridge to determine the accurate weight of your horse or pony.
  • Advice on how to minimise the risk of laminitis, and about conditions including Equine Cushing’s Disease (PPID) and Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS).
  • Learn about body condition scoring and how to correctly use an equine weigh tape.
  • Year-round advice for weight control and nutrition.
  • FREE ‘goody bag’ for all those who attend.

Please note that all horses and ponies attending will need to be accompanied by their passport and should have an up-to-date flu vaccination.

There are a limited number of places available for the clinic and to book your free place, please email emily.heslop@rossdales.com. We will be allowing approximately 20 minutes for each appointment, or 25 minutes if an owner brings two horses. Please include your name, telephone number and your horse’s name in your email.
