Juddmonte has had a great start to the Flat season, with a number of high profile winners including last weekend’s 2000 Guineas winner Chaldean, who became Frankel’s first winner of the race as a sire, 12 years after Frankel himself won the race in breathtaking fashion.

A couple of weeks earlier, Juddmonte looked to have another very promising homebred filly in their stable when the 3 year-old Prepense, by Kingman, justified her 15/8 odds as favourite when winning The Rossdales Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket’s Craven Meeting. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by former champion jockey Ryan Moore, Prepense led from over a furlong out and stayed on to win by ½ length.

Rossdales’ Clinical Director Fred Barrelet presented prizes to the winning connections (pictured with Juddmonte’s Chief Executive Officer Douglas Erskine-Crum), while two of our Newmarket veterinary technicians, Ben Munday and Jess Bishop, awarded the Best Turned Out prize before the race to the groom of Queen’s Award, trained by Ed Walker.
