The official opening ceremony of our new, state-of-the-art laboratory facilities at Beaufort Cottage Stables in Newmarket took place on Friday, 26th November.
The occasion was attended by a select group of guests, all of whom have played a significant role, past or present, in the success of Rossdales Laboratories. Speeches were given by Dr Alastair Foote, Clinical Director responsible for Rossdales Laboratories, and Professor Sidney Ricketts, former Senior Partner of Rossdales, who progressed the development of the laboratory over several decades.
Dr Alastair Foote, speaking at the opening, said: “We are delighted to be joined today by Sidney, and other colleagues, past and present, who over many years have been fundamental to developing our laboratory services, and building our reputation as a market leader. Our new, state-of-the-art facilities will enable us to continue to expand the services we can offer, and maintain our position at the forefront of equine diagnostic laboratory services.”
The celebration subsequently turned out to be a bitter sweet occasion as Dr Peter Rossdale, who had been due to attend the opening ceremony, very sadly passed away that evening. Peter had visited the practice a few weeks earlier to see the new laboratory facilities and was immensely proud of our team and what has been achieved.
