On Thursday, 8th October we hosted a day of talks at the hospital in association with Dengie Horse Feeds, with four of our specialists and two Dengie nutritionists.

Almost 40 clients attended to listen to informative talks on a range of subjects including investigating poor performance from both the vet’s and nutritionist’s perspective, diagnosis and management of Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS), EMS and implications of obesity for the performance horse and investigating musculoskeletal issues affecting performance.

The day was generously sponsored by Dengie in support of  Equine Para Adventures, a pioneering organisation dedicated to creating equine opportunities for disabled adults beyond traditional equestrian centres/riding schools. Next February the Equine Para Adventures team (of which Emily Floyd is a member) will be taking part in the Ride to Independence, a challenging mountain expedition on horseback across the Andes.
