Brexit: Postage Information for Overseas Clients
As you are aware, the UK left the EU on 31st January 2020 and since then a transition period began to give both parties time to negotiate a future trading relationship. This transition period ends on 31st December 2020 and at present a trade deal has not been agreed.
From 1st January 2021 the way you send samples to Rossdales Laboratories will change. It is looking likely that additional paperwork and formalities will be required. Shipments may be subject to customs clearance and inspections and tariffs are expected to be imposed on goods sent between the EU and UK.
We suggest that samples are sent using a courier service (we recommend FedEx). This will enable the shipment to be tracked for the complete journey and will also reduce delays in transit times. The full address details for delivery of the shipment is Rossdales Laboratories, High Street, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 8JS (telephone +44 (0)1638 663017, email laboratory@rossdales.com). The sender (you) is responsible for all charges relating to the shipment (transport, insurance, customs duties/taxes).
All shipments will need to include a copy of our import licence (see below) along with a copy of the commercial invoice from the courier company. The commercial invoice details information about the goods being sent (description, origin and value). These details need to be clear and accurate otherwise the package will be held up at customs. You may be asked to include our Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI) scheme number and this is GB102763792000.
Please ensure that you comply with the pre-import conditions listed on our import licence.
Your courier provider will be able to guide you through the process, but if you have any questions relating to the above, please get in touch.
