Peter H. L. Ramzan

BVSc(Sydney), FRCVS

Pete graduated from the University of Sydney 1994. He subsequently worked in the cattle industry in the Kimberley region of Northern Australia before moving to the UK in 1996. He gained experience in large animal practice in the West Country before joining Rossdale and Partners in Newmarket in 1998. He became a partner in 2005 and a clinical director from 2021 to 2025.

Pete is a member of Rossdales’ busy racing team and is involved in pre-purchase work (both private and at public auction) within the UK and worldwide. He is a Nominated Vet for the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Pete has a strong interest in advancing the science and practice of racehorse sports medicine and has lectured and published widely on a range of subjects relating to this, including in 2014 The Racehorse: A Veterinary Manual – the first comprehensive textbook wholly dedicated to veterinary management of the racehorse.

Pete is a previous recipient of BEVA’s Richard Hartley Clinical Award and in 2018 was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) for Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice.
