Gail joined Rossdales Laboratories as a Veterinary Pathologist in January 2022.

After 10 years in predominantly equine practice, she undertook a PhD in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at the University of Liverpool, funded by The Horse Trust, investigating aspects of potential future risk to UK equines posed by mosquito-borne viruses.

She then provided 6 months cover as a research pathologist at APHA, with involvement in production animal diagnostic histopathology, before completing 3.5 years of residency training in veterinary pathology at the University of Glasgow. She passed her exams to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists in September 2022, strengthening our growing team of dedicated pathologists, medicine specialists and laboratory staff at Rossdales Laboratories. She became an RCVS recognised Specialist in Veterinary Pathology (Equine) in 2024.

Gail has a keen interest in disease surveillance, and infectious disease in general.
