Andrew J. McGladdery

Andrew joined Rossdales in 1988 as a Horserace Betting Levy Board resident in equine studies for a 3 year period to 1991. At the end of his residency he remained working on the stud farm side of the practice. He became a partner in the practice in 1994 and a clinical director in 2021. In July 2026, he retired as a clinical director and moved into the consultant team to continue his involvement and support of various areas of our business.

Andrew’s expertise is in stud farm medicine (thoroughbred and non-thoroughbred) and bloodstock sales, and also clinical referrals – especially those involving gastroscopy and hysteroscopy. It also includes artificial insemination, embryo transfer and mare infertility investigations.

Andrew graduated from Glasgow University in 1985 with a degree in veterinary medicine and surgery. He additionally holds the RCVS certificate in equine stud medicine. He has co-authored a number of publications, presented at conferences and lectured around the world on a number of stud farm medicine-related topics.
