Alvise is a member of our horses in training veterinary team in Newmarket.
He joined Rossdales in early 2021 as a Racing Intern, spending the first year of his internship with our Diagnostic Centre team in Exning before moving to Newmarket to join our racing team for a further 12 months and then becoming a permanent member of our team in 2023.
Alvise, who is originally from Italy, graduated from the University of Turin in 2019, where during his studies he undertook externships in the UK, Italy and Ireland. Prior to joining Rossdales, he completed a 13-month rotating internship at Fethard Equine Hospital, Ireland, involving equine surgery, anaesthesia, internal medicine and sports medicine, working mostly with Thoroughbreds.
Alvise has had a keen interest in horses since childhood and is focused on pursuing a career as a racing vet. He has a particular interest in orthopaedics, poor performance, diagnostic imaging and racing practice and hopes to undertake a residency in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation after completing this internship.
In his spare time, he enjoys following horseracing and is particularly interested in Flat races. He also enjoys skiing, hiking and cooking, as well as drinking a glass of wine in the company of good friends!
