Embryo Transfer

Embryo transfer is becoming increasingly popular amongst sports horse owners who wish to breed from their mare, but who also wish to continue competing with the horse. Using highly advanced techniques, the fertilised embryo from the naturally mated or artificially- inseminated donor mare is transferred to a synchronised recipient mare, enabling the donor mare to have her foal (or foals) carried and foaled by a surrogate mother whilst she continues her competitive career.
