Adult Intensive Care

Our hospital has six dedicated stables for adult intensive care, plus a further two stables for intensive care in an isolation unit for animals with infectious disease. One of our nurses is assigned specifically to intensive care and together with an on-site overnight treatment team we can ensure that our critically ill patients are monitored closely 24 hours a day.

CCTV monitoring is invaluable for monitoring specific patients such as those with neurological disease. Through the collective efforts of our nursing staff, interns and senior veterinarians, we are proud of our recent improvements in levels of intensive care for adults, including improved pain control, parenteral nutrition and cardiopulmonary support, taking intensive care of adult horses to a level previously offered only to neonates.
