Orthopaedic / Poor Performance Investigation

Rossdales Diagnostic Centre is dedicated to investigating lameness in the horse, as well as cases of poor performance and back problems.

Detailed clinical examinations, diagnostic nerve blocks, ultrasonography, radiography and nuclear scintigraphy are performed routinely daily.

The centre admits horses of all shapes and sizes, from Miniature Shetland ponies to Thoroughbred racehorses and top class competition horses.

There is a dedicated assessment area were the vets can observe horses moving in hand: walking and trotting both in straight lines as well as on the lunge. There are three different surfaces on which we can see horses lunge (hard, medium and soft) to demonstrate different types of lameness. Additionally, we have a 50m x 30m Martin Collins Ecotrack arena, where we can observe horses being ridden both by their owners and by members of our team, and jumped if necessary.

Stabling is available to allow cases to stay for the day or longer depending upon the number of procedures that are required.
