Pre-purchase Examination

We perform pre-purchase examinations for bloodstock, performance and leisure horses. These examinations are undertaken to reduce buyer risk through assessing a horse’s current and likely future soundness by identifying pre-existing conditions, current health status and fitness for intended use.

Although the pre-purchase examination does not guarantee the future soundness of the horse, it enables our clinicians to record any medical abnormalities or concerns identified at the time of the examination.

Vettings (two and five stages) can be performed at our Equine Diagnostic Centre, together with any necessary ancilliary imaging. In agreement with the client and the vendor, they can also be performed by our clinicians at other premises where suitable facilities exist.
