Rossdales semen laboratory receives Defra approval

We are pleased to report that Rossdales new semen laboratory, run by Chris Phillips and Lorraine Palmer, has received Defra approval for international storage and shipment of semen. Semen that has been collected from sports horse and native breed stallions through a Defra-approved centre can now be stored at Rossdales and exported to all major markets around the world.

This approval recognises the huge advances that Rossdales has made over the last 12 months in offering semen evaluation, collection, freezing, storage and exportation through its new purpose-built laboratory.

Currently there are no other Defra-approved collection centres in close proximity to Rossdales, however, a local stud, serviced by Rossdales is set to attain approval at the beginning of 2012. This will allow local, national and international stallions to have semen collected, chilled or frozen for worldwide exportation.

For further information regarding semen collection, freezing or storage, please contact Chris Phillips on 01638 663150.
