back4th January 2010
On Friday, 11th December 2009, Rossdales’ veterinary surgeons, past and present, gathered for a celebratory dinner at The Jockey Club Rooms in Newmarket to mark the 50th anniversary of Rossdale & Partners.
Guest of honour was Peter Rossdale, who with his late wife Jill, took the bold step of setting up his own veterinary practice in Dullingham Road, Newmarket in December 1959. In the following years, Peter was joined by other pioneering veterinary surgeons, who formed the foundations of the now world-renowned Rossdale & Partners.
It was particularly pleasing for the current partners, their associates and consultants, to be joined on this special occasion by the ‘founding fathers’ of the practice (pictured above). These included Michael Hunt and his wife Lorne, who joined Peter in 1961, now retired and enjoying life in North Wales; Colin Peace and his wife Anne, who joined the practice in 1965 and developed the Practice's surgical services and who travelled from Canada to be at the celebration; Raymond Hopes, who joined the practice with his late wife Sheila in 1968 and developed the practice’s specific horses in training services; and Peter Mahaffey, representing his late father Leo, who founded Beaufort Cottage Laboratories in 1968.
The wonderful surroundings and hospitality of the Jockey Club Rooms provided the perfect environment for a splendid evening which will be remembered by all with great pleasure.
