Results

We aim to provide laboratory results as quickly as possible and, where technically possible, results are completed and transmitted on the day of receipt of the sample.

Where requested or considered urgent, results may be reported by telephone, or can be transmitted immediately by facsimile. Few practices today do not have a fax machine but for those which do not, we strongly recommended that this is made a priority and that practices invest in a dedicated fax line, rather than one shared with the practice telephone precluding out-of-hours contact.

Where results are required at a weekend or on a bank holiday, please give us advance warning and we will ensure that the information is available with the minimum of mutual inconvenience.
