Our Siemens Medical Solutions Immulite Chemiluminescent Autoanalyser performs over 4000 hormone examinations per annum. In the endocrinology department we undertake tests for the following:

• pregnancy
• analysis of plasma progesterone levels
• granulosa cell tumours (most common equine ovarian tumour)
• cryptorchidism (‘rig’ testing - for horses and donkeys over 3 years old)
• thyroid function
• pituitary function
• cortisol levels
• insulin level ‘screening’
• overnight dexamethasone suppression
• TRH stimulation
• Combined DXM suppression, TRH stimulation
• ACTH stimulation
• Cardiac troponin (CTnI)
