Equine Veterinary Nursing Careers DVD
Lantra (Sector Skills Council for the environmental and land-based sector), with funding from the East of England LSC and Train to Gain, has produced the 'Afuturein' DVD to showcase some of the career opportunities available in the environmental and land-based industries, including a career in Equine Veterinary Nursing. Vicky Gregory, who works at Rossdales Equine Hospital as an Equine Veterinary Nurse, features in this section of the DVD, demonstrating a day in the life of an Equine Veterinary Nurse and some of the tasks that she performs.
Vicky, who was filmed working closely alongside our veterinary surgeons, said: "The best part about being an Equine Veterinary Nurse is that you don't really have a typical day because anything can happen at any point." Vicky also discusses what prospective Equine Veterinary Nurses need to help them enter this career and says: "My top tips are to get good grades at GCSE and to get lots of experience."
